Wrist fracture
Arm fractures commonly occur in those with osteoporosis who fall on outstretched hands. The median nerve in your arm is most likely to be affected as an early complication. Blood vessel injury and compartment syndrome may also occur.
Late complications include:
- tendon irritation and rupture (especially the tendon of your thumb)
- osteoarthritis
- wrist pain or instability
- loss of motion
